Privacy Policy

Who we are
Owlee is a review app for Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) takers, made by the Owlee Team. We are responsible for the personal data described here, in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
What stays on your phone
In Self-Study mode, your profile (name, course, target exam date, review goal), your quiz answers, scores, progress and saved AI recommendations are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. Deleting the app or resetting your data removes them.
What we collect when you create an account
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, stored only in encrypted (hashed) form by our database provider. We never see it.
- Your account type (student or teacher) and, for teachers, your subscription plan.
- The date you agreed to this policy and to the Terms of Use, and which version you agreed to.
What we collect when you use classes
- Students: the classes you join, and your name, score and percentage on each class set you finish. Your teacher can see these.
- Teachers: the classes you create, the PDF materials you upload, and the questions you generate and publish.
Services that process your data for us
We share data only with the services Owlee needs to work:
- Supabase: stores accounts, classes, results and uploaded materials.
- OpenAI: generates AI recommendations, feedback and practice questions. For Self-Study AI we send your first name and topic scores, not your quiz answers. For teachers we send the text of uploaded PDFs.
- ZeroBounce: when you create an account we send your email address and IP address to check that the address can receive mail. The result is kept for up to 30 days so we do not check the same address twice.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not use your data for anything other than running Owlee.
How long we keep it
Account and class data are kept while your account is active. Email-check results are deleted after 30 days.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app: open Profile, then tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, your class memberships and class results, and, for teachers, your classes, published sets, uploaded materials and the student results in them. Email-check results are removed within 30 days.
Your Self-Study progress is stored only on your phone and is not part of your account. To erase it, use Reset app in Profile or uninstall Owlee. If you can't open the app, email raylynndonalfaro2005@gmail.com from your account's email address and we will delete your account within 30 days.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have it corrected, to object to its processing, to have it erased, to data portability, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To use any of these rights, email us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will ask you to review and agree to the new version in the app.
